"Twenty years ago, Beaufort resident Dick Stewart played an instrumental role in expanding USCB from a two-year to a four-program. With access to research on Pritchards and the school's location among one of the largest expanses of salt marsh on the East Coast, Stewart sees an opportunity to develop a leading marine biology degree program and marine research center in Beaufort."
